Of course, the name ‘Manchester United’ needs little introduction: we knew it would attract application numbers. Yet we also knew this didn’t guarantee quality of candidate. To resolve this, we spent considerable energy identifying who their ideal audience was, what they wanted, and what Manchester United could specifically offer them. Once armed with this information, we were able to choose the most relevant job sites upon which to place their adverts.
