A radical new service centre for Balfour Beatty
Background
Everyone knows Balfour Beatty. Already a multi-billion pound business with market-leading divisions in professional services, construction, support services and infrastructure investments. Their new Customer Service Centre in Newcastle has recently been set up to pool knowledge and expertise across the Group. A project of this importance required a high number of people with great organisational skills, proven ability to process large volumes of documents against deadlines, and innate management ability where appropriate.
Solution
As there were 70 roles needed to be filled quickly, it was important that the right media strategy was put in place. The first job was to identify Balfour Beatty’s employer value proposition and then convince Accounting professionals in the North East that they can become a part of this project from the very start. Volume was essential to fill these roles so we used Jobsite, Gaapweb and Jobsnortheast as the main traffic drivers.
Results
Out of 70 total hires, the strategy we put in place helped them fill 68 of these vacancies. What’s more; this yielded a cost-per-hire of £183! The main challenge now is to help Balfour Beatty build on this initial success and to keep the unsuccessful candidates engaged. This campaign should also dispel the myth that job boards are dying!
