How we helped MMU start their Facebook journey.

Objective

Manchester Metropolitan University approached us to explore how we could help them engage with IT talent in the Manchester area. they were already using niche job boards like CWjobs and Technojobs so it made sense to look at more passive, non-recruitment platforms.

Solution

We identified Facebook as a good place to start and the data showed us that we could target 53,000 IT professionals within a 10-mile radius of the University.

As the MMU careers site was under-development, we wanted to avoid driving response there so we could avoid candidates not completing their job applications. Instead we used 'apply with Facebook' as the call to action, which simply asks candidates to register their interest - a much simpler process for candidates. We then passed the leads to MMU for them to follow up by phoning them directly.

Results

Froma £1K investment, a total of 74 leads were generated at a cost per lead of £15.27. 10 candidates are currently in the interview process and we hope to update this with the number of hires when the process comes to a conclusion.
